Norman has almost 50 years of experience representing companies and individuals in intellectual property matters.  He has prepared, filed, and prosecuted over 500 patent applications and over 2000 trademark applications in the United States and in foreign countries.

Norman also has extensive experience as lead counsel in more than 200 patent, trademark, and copyright cases in the federal courts throughout the United States, with a primary focus of litigation in the District Court of New Jersey. He has also litigated before the United States Trademark Trial and Appeal Board.

After beginning his career as a Patent Examiner in the Mechanical Examining Group at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, Norman entered private practice as a patent agent at a Washington, D.C. firm, and then practiced law at an intellectual property boutique in Philadelphia, PA.  He then established his own practice in Cherry Hill, NJ, where he focused on intellectual property law.

Norman serves on the Local Patent Rules Committee of the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey, having been appointed to the Committee in 2008 by the Chief Judge of that court.

Norman is also a member of national engineering honor societies, including Tau Beta Pi, Sigma Tau, and Eta Kappa Nu.  He is a frequent speaker at school, business, and legal groups on intellectual property law, and a guest lecturer at Temple and Rutgers Law Schools.
